Community

Community participation and giving are core aspects of the Lewis culture.

It's not coincidental that many local organizations and events are chaired by Lewis employees. Lewis builds leaders, and we actively encourage our people to get involved. Groups range from major charities to professional organizations to childrens' soccer leagues.

Much of our giving is employee-led. Our generous $500 of matching funds for each salaried individual is unusual for a contractor. Employees also help guide much of our corporate giving.

The annual Heart Walk is a big focus in Seattle and Tacoma. In 2005, teaming with our clients at Horizon House, and with great enthusiasm by employees and donors, we accomplished our third straight six-figure year. Our leadership team was lead by Bill Lewis as the 2005 Heart Walk Corporate Chair, which speaks to our level of corporate commitment.

Lewis' Portland office aids an organization called REACH Community Development year-round with its Community Builders Program. REACH's program provides repairs for homeowners who need help due to age, disability, and low income. Last year Lewis employees participated in three workdays, painting homes, clearing debris and performing repairs for needy Portlanders.

Some examples of organizations Lewis supports through financial donations and/or leadership:
