Five Questions with Tanner Perrine, Project Executive and South Valley Regional Manager
We’re kicking off our new Five Questions Q&A series with Tanner Perrine, a Eugene-based project executive and regional manager for the south Willamette Valley team in Oregon.
Tanner shares his take on the trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping construction in the area.
Q: How broad is the geographic area the team serves?
A: Our area reaches up and down the I-5 corridor from Salem/Keizer to Roseburg and stretches from the Oregon coast to east of Springfield. We also cover coastal areas in Coos County, Douglas County, Lane County and Lincoln Counties, as well as portions of Yamhill, Marion, and Linn counties.
Q: What are your clients in the South Valley focused on right now?
A: Currently we’re seeing a trend in career technical education (CTE) and trades education buildings as well as additions/renovations to aging facilities within K-12 and higher education. Maximizing bond dollars for these projects is a critical area of focus to bring the best value to these facilities.

Breaking Ground on Washington State's Newest Public Health Labs
This month marks an important step forward for public health in Washington.
We recently joined the Washington State Department of Health to break ground on the South Lab Addition at the Public Health Laboratory campus in Shoreline, a vital project years in the making.
Designed by The Miller Hull Partnership, LLP, the 32,000-square-foot expansion will add new labs and offices for the Environmental Lab Services department, expanding testing capabilities and capacity across a wide range of public health needs. The design employs advanced MEP systems to support testing and energy reduction goals.
This new facility will advance prevention and preparedness in our state while reflecting a commitment to modern public health infrastructure that supports our communities.
The South Lab Addition will be complete in Q2 2027.

AGC of Washington Names Jennifer Putnam-Petrone 2026 Safety Professional of the Year
We’re proud to share that AGC of Washington has named Lewis safety manager Jennifer Putnam-Petrone the 2026 Safety Professional of the Year—a well-deserved recognition of a career defined by leadership, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to keeping people safe.
Starting her career as a carpenter more than 25 years ago, Jennifer brings firsthand field experience that gives her credibility with crews and leaders alike.
Jennifer’s impact at Lewis is both broad and deeply personal. A mentor to safety professionals across our Washington division, she has a rare ability to translate complex regulations into clear, practical guidance that crews can trust and apply in the field. She approaches every new rule or requirement with care and curiosity, digging into the details, offering thoughtful feedback, and making sure teams understand not just what is changing, but why it matters. That patience and clarity have helped strengthen a safety culture rooted in shared responsibility and continuous improvement.
